I was born and raised in Southern Oregon. I grew up working with my father in his excavation and construction business. I fell in love with Portland when I moved here in 1997. I have learned many things while living in this fine city. For example, I learned how to recycle. I learned the term "sustainability." I learned how to meet almost all of my transportation needs with a bicycle. These lessons, and many others like them, have influenced me heavily as I formulate my approach to doing business in the real estate industry. I have combined my early background in construction with my more recent education in sustainability to land in a fascinating niche in the real estate market. I work closely with a local builder that uses green building techniques on infill projects (see www.bridgecityinc.com). I continually strive to improve my knowledge of green building strategies so that I can help my clients understand the implications of these strategies for the purchase or sale of their home. It seems that there is never a limit to how much one can learn about land use and zoning, energy efficiency, building techniques, new technologies, transit-oriented development, and so forth. I bring my experience and knowledge in all of these matters to bear upon every transaction I do. I have helped clients with the sale of new construction homes, the purchase of land for a custom build out, purchase of rehab properties, and short sales. I do most of my work in the close-in neighborhoods of North and Northeast and Southeast Portland. I also live inner Northeast, so I consider myself to be very familiar with the market dynamics in these areas since I am "on the ground" and involved in these neighborhoods.
I would value the opportunity to share with you what I have to offer in your transaction, whether you are looking to buy or sell a property. I would also appreciate the opportunity to show you around Portland’s neighborhoods by bike. I have found that viewing real estate by bike gives people a better sense of connection to the neighborhood and a greater ability to observe and to relate to their surroundings. Furthermore, riding bikes is just plain fun, so I always delight in the opportunity to do that with clients. Whether you ride bikes or not, I would love to hear from you about your real estate goals so that I can offer my best efforts to help you meet those goals.
